Josef Saul "Sef" Furman[2] was an 18-year-old South Park fan from Plano, Texas who suffered from brain cancer. With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the creators of the show, he made a guest appearance in "The Pandemic Special".[3]
Sef passed away on November 26, 2020,[1] almost two months after "The Pandemic Special" aired.
Background
Sef Furman appears in Mrs. Nelson's 4th-grade Zoom class and is later seen in quarantine with the rest of the school.
Appearance
Sef Furman has black glasses and wears a black short-sleeved shirt, red shorts, and black shoes. In an interview, his father said that the creators designed the character to resemble Sef's real-life appearance.[3]
Sef is the first at the school door when Timmy cuts the chain.
Trivia
- Sef Furman was the fourth of four South Park fans who have guest starred on the show. The other guests include:
- Alex Glick, who appeared in "Red Man's Greed".
- Matthew Klinner, who appeared at the end of the title sequence for "Sexual Healing".
- Hugh who appeared in "Dead Kids" and "Nobody Got Cereal?".
