Scott Malkinson is a character introduced in the episode "Elementary School Musical". He has a lisp and diabetes, which Cartman rips on him for.

Background

Scott first appears in the Season Twelve episode "Elementary School Musical". The boys use him to replace Stan, who has begun to try to learn how to do musicals to prevent himself from losing Wendy to Bridon Gueermo.

He later appears in the episode "Butters' Bottom Bitch", as a customer of Butters's "kissing company", and passes at the background during Cartman's bookselling in the episode "Dances with Smurfs".

Starting from Season Fourteen, he makes several background appearances, in the cafeteria and in the hallways. In "Going Native", Scott is mentioned to have been beaten up by Butters Stotch.

He later has an important in the Black Friday trilogy where he is seen sharpening a wooden sword in Cartman's backyard in the episode "A Song of Ass and Fire", "sword fighting" with Butters Stotch. He then joins Butters on a trip to George R. R. Martin's house to find out what will happen when the dragons come.

Scott has another big role in "Gluten Free Ebola" where everyone is using him as a scapegoat for avoiding gluten. He agrees to help the boys boost their popularity again after shifting to bad terms with the entire school.

Future

In the timeline set in South Park: Post Covid, he becomes the priest at the South Park Church.

Criminal Record

• Indecent exposure: During the Wieners Out Movement of Season Twenty, he joins Butters' cause and frequently exposes his genitalia.

Appearance

Scott wears a light green jacket with a dark green collar and has teal trousers or light blue jeans. He has freckles and short, ruffled brown hair parted in the middle, and has prominent ears. Most of the time, Scott is seen with his tongue hanging out. He has an obvious lisp.

When he goes to sleep, he wears white formal pajamas with light blue stripes (shown in "Skank Hunt") or formal light blue pajamas with red cars.

In South Park: Post Covid, Scott appears as an adult man. The fringes of his hair grew and are graying on the sides, and he has wrinkles and ears. He wears a black priest uniform with a black belt. In addition, he still has his lisp.

Personality

Used as a provisory replacement for Stan Marsh in "Elementary School Musical", Scott Malkinson initially showed to be a spineless, passive individual. Certainly lacking in self-awareness, at one point asking "What's so bad about hanging out with me?" His half-hearted lectures and attempts to deflect Cartman's mockery rendered useless, resulting in silent resignation. Even if visibly annoyed, Scott abides from retaliating, as if avoiding the bullying through lack of reaction.

Starting from Season Thirteen, Scott's character began developing. Signs of desperation from neglect and dismissal started to show, buying a kiss from Sally Darson in "Butters' Bottom Bitch" and commenting it felt "almost as if someone cared" about him. Scott's issues are dismissed and his health condition is frequently used as an accessory to benefit others. Friendly and mellow as Scott is, he remains unpopular and ignored. Showing naivety and compliance, presumably accepting mistreatment for the sake of being included.

From South Park's Season Twenty and onward, it is possible to notice Scott's unexpected perseverance and his emotional dependency on others upon hints of mutual interest. In "Skank Hunt" Hours were spent while Mr. Mackey attempted to soothe Scott's to stop his attempts of leaving Twitter (again, an allegory to suicide). Mackey quickly grew annoyed with Scott's continuous pestering, with the latter clearly unaware of it. Scott's ideations at the time imply possible anxious and depressed behavior from him, as well as lack of self-worth. Feeling overlooked by his peers and parents.

In "Basic Cable", Scott grows to be more of an intense character. He becomes possessive and territorial over Sophie Gray, aiming to scare away any perceived threats to his self-proclaimed relationship with her. Yet again, one can spot codependency from the ridicule faced by Scott. It is also learned that he can be quite reactive, especially when overwhelmed. Upon being made fun of, Scott calls out his classmates and angrily storms off, resuming on the pursuit of Sophie. Regarding his reactiveness, he showed clear aggression upon witnessing Pete Thelman approaching Sophie, ramming into the boy to shove him aside. Meaning Scott has full potential to be violent when stressed or in a crisis, which was not shown only once.

As a result of being ostracized, Scott Malkinson's self-identity became warped, leaving him fully believing his conditions were his whole identity. Once more in "Basic Cable", Scott's character growth is implied after conversing with Sophie. It is learned how strong and resilient Scott can be when setting aside his usual lack of spine.

Whether or not Scott was sexually abused, he later showed up as the leader of Lil Qties in "South ParQ Vaccination Special" with a group of fellow children following him. Once more, he grew violent when confronted by the Kommunity Kidz, punching Stan in the face. This shows Scott's secret proactiveness and disposition toward aggression, making him more fleshed-out as compared to his debut. As well as Scott may be friendly, kind, sensitive, loyal, and compassionate; he may also be defensive, aggressive, and impulsive.

Family

Clark Malkinson

Clark is Scott's father. Their relationship appears to be poor, as when Scott asks if they can subscribe to the streaming service Disney+, Clark becomes very angry at Scott. When Clark leaves to go to work, Scott angrily calls him an "asshole."

Ellen Malkinson

Ellen is Scott's mother. They seem to have a good relationship, as when she approves of Scott inviting a girl with diabetes to watch TV at their house.

Interactions

Eric Cartman

Cartman takes pleasure in ridiculing Scott for his diabetes, often mockingly imitating his distinctive lisp. Scott usually tries to protest, saying "Hey, don't make fun of my diabetes!" and "That's enough, you guys, it's not cool. Lots of kids have diabetes!", but Cartman disregards this as always and continues.

In "Basic Cable", Scott goes to Cartman for relationship advice.

The Boys

Most of the boys appear originally to have a negative impression of Scott Malkinson due to his awkward personality and lack of popularity, but their attitude progressively becomes more neutral in later years. He is repeatedly silenced and ridiculed by Eric Cartman when trying to speak or interact with his peers and is mocked for his lisp and diabetes. Kenny McCormick and Kyle Broflovski both appear to be ambivalent towards Scott, often completely ignoring both him and Cartman's ridicule. However, they are well aware that their association with Scott Malkinson makes them incredibly uncool. Although he is still rather unpopular among his peers and does not appear to be particularly close to any of them, Scott has shown to be included more frequently among some of the boys in recent episodes.

He is most noticeably seen eating lunch with the main boys and their extended friend group more often in the cafeteria and seems to have befriended Eric Cartman and Butters Stotch, having been shown in their company several times in certain episodes and going to Cartman personally for relationship advice in "Basic Cable". He also seems to have bonded somewhat with some of the boys, including Stan Marsh and Clyde Donovan, after being seen shown as a member of their board gamers club in the episode "Board Girls". It is possible that although they do not necessarily consider him "cool" to associate with, the boys have warmed up to and become more tolerant of Scott over time and are now more willing to let him hang out with or be around them.

In the future in South Park: Post Covid, Scott's old classmates do not remember him when they enter the South Park Church for Kenny's funeral. The fact that he has a lisp and diabetes rings a bell for Stan. Later when an argument breaks out during the funeral, Stan ridicules Scott for his diabetes and walks out, to which Scott expresses joy that Stan now remembers him.

Sophie Gray

Scott instantly becomes infatuated with Sophie Gray in "Basic Cable", after hearing that she has diabetes. He believes he has fallen in love with her almost immediately upon meeting her and feels entitled to be with Sophie on the mere basis of their shared diabetes, focusing on no other aspect of her beyond her condition. He goes to great lengths to try to impress her and lashes out angrily at any boy who tries to pursue her, feeling threatened upon witnessing several of the other boys also developing attractions to her at the school. He and Sophie arrange a meet-up at Scott's house to watch The Mandalorian, but Disney+ suddenly goes down. They go to Jimmy's house to continue watching the show, but the same thing happens. Seeing the boys comforting Sophie, Scott angrily yells at them for trying to steal his girlfriend. Sophie says that she isn't his girlfriend and that she's more than just her diabetes. Scott sadly tells her that he's not.

Later that night, Scott is sitting alone in the playground and Sophie comes to comfort him. She tells him that she's glad there's someone she can talk about diabetes with and that she doesn't think he's any weirder or grosser than any of the other boys in this town. She reassures Scott that she is not disappointed at having missed her show and the episode ends on a heartwarming note with Sophie saying that she is “kind of starting to like the Scott Malkinson show” as they spend quality time together. Although Sophie ultimately did not get into a romantic relationship with Scott or return his affection, she nonetheless expressed gratitude over having met someone new who could relate to the struggles diabetics face, and they remain friends (Possibly best friends).

In "The Worldwide Privacy Tour" they can be seen next to each other when Bebe is beating up Butters.

Butters Stotch

Despite having been beat up by him in "Going Native", Scott and Butters seem to have a friendship, as shown by Butters' concern for Scott when he began experiencing low blood sugar due to having not eaten in "A Song of Ass and Fire" and "Titties and Dragons".

Jason White

Establishing shots of the cafeteria in multiple episodes show Scott and Jason eating lunch with unnamed kids. This could indicate a possible friendship between the two. However, the two have never actually been seen interacting.

Clyde Donovan

In the episode "Cupid Ye", he and Clyde came with a movie idea, about a guy with guns for hands. This indicates that they have formed a closer friendship, despite Clyde's mockery towards Scott. They were also seen standing next to each other, watching the fight with anticipation in "Douche and a Danish". Implies some sort of connection prior to Season Twenty-Six.

South Park: The Stick of Truth

Scott is seen on the front cover of GameInformer magazine's coverage of South Park: The Stick of Truth. Despite how Cartman treats Scott on the show, Scott joins sides with Cartman's human faction of the Kingdom of Kupa Keep. Scott quickly befriends Douchebag. After Clyde is banished by Cartman, he assumes the role of Kupa Keep's shopkeeper. Scott is later used for practice when Douchebag is trained to use the Cup-A-Spell fart.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Main article: Captain Diabetes

Scott is introduced as Captain Diabetes, and helps the New Kid break into the Peppermint Hippo to chase down Classi for information. After chasing Classi to the Buca De Faggoncini and escaping from Spontaneous Bootay, he then dies of diabetic shock while attempting to use his diabetic rage power to overturn an obstacle that was too heavy for him. However, the New Kid, remembering Morgan Freeman's advice, crafts and eats an enchirito and unlocks the TimeFart glitch, and uses it to undo Scott's death. They regroup with the other Coon and Friends members in the Buca de Faggoncini and finally track down Classi and bring her back to Cartman's house for interrogation.

South Park: Phone Destroyer

There are only two cards that feature Scott Malkinson in South Park: Phone Destroyer.

Captain Diabetes is a 2-Cost Common Fighter of the Superheroes theme that is based on his superhero costume in South Park: The Fractured but Whole. When he uses his Charge skill, he will channel the power of his diabetic rage to double his base Attack and max HP for 8 seconds.

Alchemist Scott is a 4-Cost Legendary Ranged unit of the Fantasy theme that is based on his appearance in the "Black Friday" trilogy and South Park: The Stick of Truth. When he uses his Charge skill, he will attach marks to enemies, making them take area damage and stunning them when he attacks them. The bombs do not leave that enemy until they die.
