Sally Turner, also referred to as Powder, is a female fourth-grade student at South Park Elementary. She first appeared in the Season Three episode, "Rainforest Shmainforest".

Background

Sally first appeared in "Rainforest Shmainforest". as a member of the Getting Gay With Kids choir, but has been seen in the South Park Elementary fourth grade class since "Hooked on Monkey Fonics".

One of her more notable appearances of her was as a part of Lizzy's female sled group in "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000" and she appeared with her throughout the episode. She had worked with Kenny McCormick on the egg science project in "Follow That Egg!". Her name was revealed in "Quest for Ratings" and it is claimed by Kyle that she stuffs her bra.

For the most part, she is usually a background character, with her only individual speaking appearance being "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", though she says "Yeah!" with the other sledders of Lizzy's in "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000".

Appearance

Sally has similar hair and clothes to two other females in her class, most notably Red and Wendy. She wears a navy blue sweater with a pink pocket and sea green trousers, as many of her female classmates do. Her hair is similar to that of Red's, except that Sally lacks bangs and is a brighter red color, and she has a pink clip tying her hair back on the right.

It is possible she wears a bra, despite her age, and stuffs it. However, chances are she does not, as Cartman and the others on the Sexy Action News squad in "Quest for Ratings" claimed they should "make up stories of kids and present it on the news".

In her first appearance she wore a normal sweater, though she wears one with a pouch in all of her appearances afterward. The pouch was initially yellow, but episodes in Season Five and on depict it as being bright pink. When she was into the "whore" fad in "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", she wore a lavender crop-top and a matching skirt and shoes. Sally was unique, being the only child character with red eyebrows, but in recent seasons they have gone from black, matching the other children, to their original red color.

A version of Sally with grey hair appeared in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and several other episodes of the series during playground scenes. It is not known if this was Sally. It was likely a different character entirely as Sally is used as a character model for crowd scenes.

Criminal Record

  • Civil unrest/rioting: Sally is one of many students who participated in the South Park Elementary gender war in "Proper Condom Use".
  • Sexual harassment: In "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", Sally was among the girls hitting on the boys in the school hallway and was later one of many girls who attended Bebe's Stupid Spoiled Whore party, making unwanted sexual advances towards the attending boys.

Family

Mother

In "Something You Can Do with Your Finger", she appears with her mother; who is stopped by the security guards.

Interactions

Fourth Grade Girls

She is commonly seen with the popular girls "clique", signifying her social status as well as confirming her position as a popular girl. In "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", she is seen with other popular girls such as Bebe and Red, inviting boys to their party. However, she is closer with some girls than others, frequently being seen with Esther and Bebe.

Stan Marsh

In "Rainforest Shmainforest", the two were seen together as part of the Getting Gay With Kids choir. Although their relationship was never further expanded, it is implied that they enjoyed singing together in the choir.

Eric Cartman

Although their first interaction in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut was positive, with Sally smiling and clapping along to his song, the same can not be said for the rest.

The start of their dislike for each other comes from "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", when the girls are inviting boys to their "stupid spoiled whore" party. Despite the other boys receiving invitations and being called vulgar and somewhat sexual nicknames, Eric is the only one that is ignored. He responds to this by yelling "Fuck you!" at all of the girls, and even calls Sally a bitch, despite the other girls (with Red as an exception, as he did not know her name at the time) being called by their actual names. This rivalry is later explored again in "Quest for Ratings", with Cartman broadcasting a made-up story about Sally stuffing her bra on Sexy Action School News.

Kenny McCormick

In "Follow That Egg!", the two are paired up for the parenting project. They seem to enjoy each other's company, however this was their only interaction.

Esther

In "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000", they are seen on the same sledding team. They enjoy being on the sledding team together, and also are seen hanging out with each other outside of school. Their friendship is later brought back in "Skank Hunt", with the two sitting near each other during Wendy's meeting.

Bebe Stevens

In "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000", they are on the same sledding team. They seem to enjoy each other's company, as they get along well on the team and are also seen talking outside of school and sledding practice. This relationship also appears in "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", with the girls standing near each other while inviting boys to their whore party, agreeing with each other's vulgar comments about the boys. Although they have not been seen together recently, they remain members of the same "popular girls" clique.

A picture of Sally with Bebe and Wendy can be seen at Bebe's house in "Cartman Finds Love" indicating that they are very close friends.

Lizzy

In "Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000", Sally is seen as a member of Lizzy's sledding group. Sally is shown to be supportive of Lizzy, helping out with the team and pushing their sled during practice. Later in the episode, she is seen at Lizzy's house, prank calling the boys and laughing. They are also seen standing by each other when Lizzy is arguing with the boys on the playground. However, due to Lizzy's quick phasing out from the series, the two have not been seen together since.

Trivia

  • Sally is one of the few children who does not have black eyebrows, but rather red ones.
  • Sally shares her last name with a third grader, Billy Turner, and two other 4th graders, Heidi Turner and Tommy Turner.
  • Due to Sally's large resemblance to Red, multiple fans believe that she and Red are the same person.
