DikinBaus Hot Dogs, formerly known as the Coney Island Hotdog, is a hot dog stand and historic Colorado landmark. It was abandoned and temporarily served as residence for Eric Cartman and Liane Cartman from the Season Twenty-Five episode "City People" until the Season Twenty-Six episode "DikinBaus Hot Dogs" when it returned to food service.

Background

Liane takes up a job at the South Park Realtors amid rising house rents, which in turn attracts her son into the real estate agent business. Eric Cartman eventually forms his own real estate company known as the South Park Realty Group and makes a showcase video of several houses. In response, the South Park Realtors create their own video advertisement of the Coney Island Hotdog.

Liane later quits her job and ends up selling their house and living in the hotdog stand.

Cartman has since expressed displeasure on the living conditions of the hotdog stand. Upon discovering that a mansion is being built opposite their house, he devises a plan to have Liane undergo a breast implant surgery, hoping that she would be attracted by the owner and then taken into the mansion. This plan is ultimately rejected by Liane, with Cartman receiving the surgery for himself.

Later on, after briefly working as an employee at an ice cream shop alongside Butters and getting fed up with the demands that he should put in all his time and effort, Cartman realizes that he can open the hotdog stand for business, using Butters' savings to renovate it by adding fun things like a slide, mermaid grotto, and zipline. Consequently, Butters gets angry over the fact that Cartman had used all his hard-earned money for the hot dog stand's renovation, eventually choosing to operate the business on his own and turn it into a success. Even though Cartman got much of the credit for the success of DikinBaus, his pleasure was short-lived as Butters eventually sold the restaurant to overseas investors, who also offered to pay for Cartman and Liane to move back into their old house.

Appearance

Exterior

The Coney Island Hotdog is an abandoned hotdog stand, situated on a dirty patch of land, with parking lots marked just outside. The building itself takes the shape of a hotdog bun, flanked by a model of a hotdog itself with toppings. There are two flag poles at the back, carrying the United States and Colorado flags.

In "DikinBaus Hot Dogs", Cartman uses money from Butters in order to make renovations on the hotdog. This includes rides, a spiral slide, and water features.

Interior

As a result of the Cartman family moving in, the house is left in an untidy state, with much of their furniture unpacked and several boxes lying around. Eric Cartman is seen using the sink, which could only dispense ketchup and mustard.

Trivia

  • Coney Island Hotdog is based on a real diner in Bailey, Colorado called Coney Island Colorado.
  • In "The Unaired Pilot", a similar looking hotdog stand can be seen in the intro, it is likely also based on Coney Island Colorado.
