Vernacular

Vernacular is a fine-dining restaurant in South Park. It appears in the Season Nineteen episode, "You're Not Yelping".

Background

Randy and Gerald attempt to have dinner at Vernacular. They are told they must wait half hour before they can be seated, but they are seated right away when Gerald reveals that he is a Yelper. Gerald claims he was secretive about it because he did not want the restaurant "to kiss his ass too much".

Later, after Mayor McDaniels has made Gerald and the other Yelpers elite members, a Yelper stops by the restaurant. He informs the waiter that he is now a Yelp Elite member. The waiter heads to the kitchen to tell the chef about the man's status and asks to give him "The Yelper Special", which results in the chef putting his boogers onto the Yelper's steak. A few moments later, as the song continues to play, another waiter at the restaurant stops to fart on a plate of salad that he then brings to Enchorito Mark and his wife, who are also Yelpers. Immediately after, the couple is shown talking to an employee and pointing out the decor, as the lyrics indicate that despite their attitude, the Yelper's critique of the restaurant's decor is valid.
