Sweden is a country in northern Europe. It was featured as the venue for the Nobel Prize Award ceremonies in Season Three's "Spontaneous Combustion", as well as South Park: Post Covid.

Background

Sweden is first mentioned in Season Two's "Prehistoric Ice Man", where the Federal Bureau of Investigation intended to use a man that was frozen in time as a tool to take over the country.

In "Spontaneous Combustion", the award ceremony is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, who beings her speech by making negative sentiments towards Republicans. Randy Marsh is awarded the Nobel Prize in Science for his "formulated break-wind theory of spontaneous combustion" over two other nominees, with one of them being Dr. Alphonse Mephesto.

In South Park: Post Covid, it is reported in a news program that Kenny McCormick had been awarded a Nobel Prize in Science at some point in time, showing a photograph of Kenny receiving the prize during an award ceremony. From the diploma shown in the photograph, it is revealed that Kenny is credited for "theoretical discoveries in topological phase transitions and topological phases of matter."

Despite both occurrences, no such category of "Science" exists in reality, but is instead classified into three fields: Physics, Chemistry, or Economic Sciences.
