Stark's Pond is the first chapter of South Park: Snow Day!.

Summary

The Druid Elves, led by High Druid Kyle, are planning an attack on the Humans. The Grand Wizard has ordered a pre-emptive attack on their forces.

Plot

Prologue

At Cartman Residence, Liane watches the news of a blizzard raging through South Park, with reports of a tanker truck being stuck at Stark's Pond. Cartman returns home, asking if school has been canceled due to the freezing weather instead of paying attention to the impact that has been reported. At night, Cartman barges into Liane's room and lays down the same question once more, before being turned away. Cartman returns to his room and prays for it to snow harder, pleading not to be "fucked" for once.

The next morning, the reporter reports of frozen bodies discovered out in the open, with first responders staying at home. The reporter finally announces the closure of all schools across the park county, much to Cartman's joy. Cartman immediately changes to his Grand Wizard costume and heads outside, calling for all the kids living nearby to come out and play, including the New Kid.

The New Kid heads outside and is guided by Cartman, who then instructs them to visit Paladin Butters at the rooftop of South Park Elementary. The New Kid is taken through a tutorial play on their way to school, with the help of the Paladin and the Bard. Having completed the tutorial, the Grand Wizard invites the New Kid onto the briefing table at Kupa Keep. The Grand Wizard briefs the New Kid on a potential massive attack by High Druid Kyle, explaining that the latter's forces have been spotted near Stark's Pond.

Stark's Pond

Cartman and Kyle face each other in the Bullshit Trial, held outside the Park County Community Center. Cartman accuses Kyle of preparing an army against the Humans, before being intervened by Paladin Butters, who is residing over the trial as the Keeper of the Rules. After the factions have chosen their cards, the New Kid is tasked to find Kyle in the forest. They make their way to Stark's Pond, encountering Elven outposts and waves of Swarmers on the way. Upon arrival, they hear a call for help from the depths of the now-frozen pond, who turns out to be Randy. Randy explains that he has been trapped while looking for supplies. He pleads the New Kid to break him free from the ice, using the nearby tanker truck that requires some gas and keys to turn on, promising to help the New Kid look for Kyle in return. The New Kid goes out to retrieve the keys and gas from any two of the possible locations: Backcountry Adventures, the South Park Train Station, Stark's Pond Falls, or the South Park Center for Seismic Activity, which are being guarded by Kyle's army.

The New Kid returns to Stark's Pond with the supplies and starts up the tanker truck, reversing the truck and allowing to smash onto the ice where Randy has been trapped in. Randy thanks the New Kid but falls short of his promise, instead telling the New Kid to "look within themselves" before taking his leave. Just then, the Elves close a barrier on the New Kid, trapping them with several waves of Swarmers. After clearing the Swarmers, the New Kid unlocks a nearby gate and ventures further into the forest, encountering Kyle himself. With Kyle defeated, Cartman makes a call and teases Kyle as being "a little bitch".

Trivia

• While briefing the New Kid on the incoming attack by the Elves, Cartman brings up South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole, having to change the rules following the events in both games.
