Welcome

Hi and welcome, I know I'm probably a bit late to welcome but this site is like how the town is featured in The Wacky Molestation Adventure. Wondering what you need help on. I'm mainly working on episodes, I also redesigned the main page - sorry if I deleted anything you submitted but I tried to keep some of it. Anyway, if you need a hand give me a shout and I'll see what I can do. That's right Mr. Hat... User:Mr. Garrison

Hey there, thanks for adding the season categories, it really pays off. I was wondering if we should have separate season pages. Mr. Garrison 19:49, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Hiho

Hello Lemniwinks, while reverting the latest vandalism on this wiki, I've noted that the founder and currently only admin is inactive since 2005. And I also noted that you are active in a good way and for a longer time now :-)

So, are you interested in "adopting" this wiki? This would mean, that you'll get sysop rights here and therefore will be able to adapt the wiki's interface in many ways (including the logo, CSS and JS). You will also be able to delete needless redirects or nonsense pages, or to block vandal accounts by yourself then.

If you are interested please read the Administrators' how-to guide carefully and leave me a note afterwards. Of course, I – and also the other members of Wikia's Community Support Team – can always help you personally later if you have any questions.

By the way, I've asked Mr. Garrison the same question. If you both are interested, there'll be two admins then, and it would be best if you could "work together" in some way :-)

I already gave you rollback rights some minutes ago :-)

Greetings --rieke 18:26, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

PS: It's good to be mindful when noting copies from Wikipedia. Thanks for taking care!

You're also sysop here now. I'll leave an additional note about the adoption on this wiki' description page on Central Wikia. Enjoy :-) --rieke 21:01, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Administration

Congratulations on becoming admin too! I look forward to working with you and hopefully we can tidy the site up. I was wondering if you had any ideas? Mr. Garrison 21:07, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

I had the same idea too, Ike isn't the most well known aspect of South Park. Possibly the signpost or a still from the crowd scene in the intro? I think the sign itself would be better. Your thoughts? Mr. Garrison 21:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

PS: I'm working on a new character page. I wasn't sure what characters deserve pages. Any ideas?

True, but we have to make sure that people won't add insignificant characters like Ms. Stephenson, Dr. Nelson and Halfee to a list of major characters (that would have links to their pages). Mr. Garrison 15:25, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Character Pages

I think we need to work on cleaning up character pages; they're really in a mess some of them. Mr. Garrison 12:53, 26 May 2007 (UTC)-

Welcome back

Good to see you again :) Mr. Garrison 16:19, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, but I can't take full credit, Wilhelmina Will did plenty of character stuff (now an admin because of all the hard work with content she did). Out of curiousity, do you have all the templates for the wiki on the left hand side? I think there's been an update I haven't got yet..

A proposal for a new policy

As you said on the featured article page, why have a replica of wikipedia? So I think we should try and come up with an idea for a policy to either prevent or lessen it. I tried putting notes on pages that they need to be rewritten but people simply remove them and say "we're allowed to just copy stuff" but it's becoming a joke now. I don't want na edit war with everyone constantly undoing and redoing edits but this is really not what the wiki's about. There are whole pages of copied information full of red links and templates which don't exist on here. Pages that need de-wikifying never seem to get to the attention of everyone, and just get left there. Want to try and put an end to this? I think all us admins should come to an agreement and try and solve this. Mr. Garrison 12:42, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, we can't force people to stop doing this, but we can try. For starters, maybe a new rule that anything copied must contain the tag saying it should be rewritten, however good the information is. We could also put requests that people stop, or even hold a vote on whether we should forbid or allow the copying of articles, but somehow I can see the majority voting to allow it. We could deffinetely aim to limit it though, and I will put in a lot of effort to get this done so the wiki can try and exist separately, without it being thought of as just a wikipedia clone which it is slowly becoming. Mr. Garrison 20:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Lemniwinks, User:McBob proposes to create a new logo for the site (which has been wanted for ages!) and I wondered if you'd agree with me that a poll should be made on what to have as the new logo, or if it should be changed at all? Mr. Garrison 16:55, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, McBob did a good job on the logo. Have you been aware of the vandal problem which has surfaced? Mr. Garrison 09:38, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Question about the rules

Hello. I have a question about the editing policies on South Park Wiki. What are your rules on original research? I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I have much more experience on oblivion.wikia.com, which DOES allow original research. Some other wikias allow it under strict regulation. What exactly are South Park Wiki's rules on original research?Dstebbins 21:19, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

This user hasn't been active in months.
It would be nice to have sources. But we are not ridiculously strict about it like Wikipedia. It really doesn't matter who did the research for us. Research is research. The more information we can get the better.—Matt (talk) 22:12, November 30, 2008 (UTC)

South Park Wiki Wants You!

Hey there, Lemniwinks! My name is Joe and I'm a Wikia Helper. I've been focusing a lot lately on the South Park Wiki, and it looks like we're gaining a lot of momentum before the 13th season. I noticed that you haven't been editing here in some time, and I wanted to say hello and offer any help if you need it. Please feel free to post on my talk page if you've got any questions or if you'd like some ideas on how to help. Cheers! — Joe (talk) 23:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
