Trivia
- Kenny only has one line in this episode; when Cartman shows him the penis photo, he can be clearly heard saying, "That makes you totally fucking gay!"
- Pastor Phillips, the counselor who was "cured" of his confusion, may be an allusion to Ted Haggard, who went to counseling to make him heterosexual after a man outed him.
- Butters' blood type is revealed to be "O".
- This is the first episode where the boy with red shirt and blue pants appears in Mr. Garrison's class.
- When Cartman takes a picture of himself with Butters' penis in his mouth, he gives a thumbs-up sign and smiles as he says that the picture is against the Iraq war. This is a reference to the controversy of Army Private Lynndie England, who took pictures of herself torturing the prisoners of an Abu Ghraib prison while smiling and giving a thumbs-up sign.
- Despite having his naïveté of Cartman's manipulation diminished during the episode "AWESOM-O", Butters is still gullible to his tricks.
- A total of 3 people kill themselves at Camp New Grace during the course of the episode.
- Cartman pronounces "Property" the same way he pronounces "Authority" in his catchphrase, "Respect My Authoritah".
- When Cartman is explaining his plan to Stan and Kyle, he says it is going to be his "coop de grass". This is a mispronunciation of "coup de grâce".
- In South Park: The Stick of Truth, all of the prank images taken by Cartman can be seen on Kodak machines in Photo Dojo if attacked, including an unaltered version of Cartman putting Butters' penis in his mouth.
References to Popular Culture
- Stan, Kyle, and Kenny were playing a board game called "Living", which is a parody of The Game of Life.
- Bradley's appearance and mannerisms are modeled after Brad Dourif's portrayal of the character Billy Bibbit in the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
- This episode is a reference to the movie But I'm a Cheerleader, wherein a young woman is sent to a campsite to cure homosexuals of their so-called unclean desires. The one difference in this is that the campsite only helps young boys and that Butters has no idea what being bi-curious actually means.
Continuity
- Cyborg Bill makes a reappearance in this episode both as an action figure and in a poster that reads "Gi Bill Won't Run".
- This is the second time Cartman has given oral sex to someone. The first was in "The Simpsons Already Did It", where a stranger tricks him into sucking semen from a "hose."
- Stephen Stotch says he is bi-curious, as shown in "Butters' Very Own Episode", implying he has not gotten over his addiction to homosexuality.
- This is the first appearance of Priest Maxi since "Grey Dawn".
- The episode ends with Cartman saying "Lame" in a monotone voice, similar to the way he did at the end of the episode "AWESOM-O".
- This is the second time Cartman has overreacted to getting hit by Kyle. The first was in "It's Christmas in Canada".
- The board game that Stan, Kyle, and Kenny are playing, "Living", previously appeared in "All About Mormons".
Goofs
- The boy behind Butters that shot himself can be seen later in the episode.
- During the scene where Cartman is giving his presentation, Butters is visible in one of the shots, despite him not being in school at the time.
