"Sora Not Sorry" is the third episode of Season Twenty-Eight, and the 329th overall episode of South Park. It aired on November 12, 2025.

Synopsis

Butters' AI revenge plan backfires, igniting an epidemic of fake videos at school that leaves Detective Harris struggling to tell fantasy from reality.

Plot

In a South Park neighborhood, Red McArthur knocks on the door of a home, introducing herself by name as a student from South Park Elementary and asking the home owner to sign her petition. He agrees but asks what the petition is about, and Red explains it is to get everyone to smell her farts, leading her to start farting. Santa Claus then arrives, questioning what is happening and tells Red she's been a bad girl and that he will piss in her face as punishment, and then begins doing so. This scenario is actually a video generated by Butters Stotch, who is showing it off to Kenny McCormick and Clyde Donovan in the school hallways as they laugh. Clyde is surprised how real the video is, and then Stan Marsh and Kyle Broflovski walk by and Butters calls them over to watch, explaining he and Kenny created the AI-generated video. Stan and Kyle are disgusted with the video as Butters explains how easy it is to make, mentioning they also have made similar videos of Red eating dog shit and one where she barfs up tampons. Stan doesn't think it's cool and Kyle questions why Butters would do this, and he justifies that Red is a "bitch" and used him by pretending to like him so he would buy her a rare Labubu. Kyle still tells her not to use AI to make "revenge porn" and points out it can backfire. In the girls' bathroom, Red is watching the video with Bebe Stevens and Nichole Daniels, who observes the video is all over the school and Butters is trying to humiliate her. Red questions why and Bebe pointed out she did kind of use him, which Red denies insisting Butters wanted to buy her the Labubu. Nichole suggests going to the principal, but Red decides instead to take advantage of the afternoon school assembly to get back at Butters anyway.

In the gymnasium as students gather for the assembly, PC Principal points out that since students have lost their common sense thanks to the "woke radical left", he as called the assembly to talk about pride in American heritage. The video starts with a flag and dramatic narration about the arrival of colonists in the Americas, before cutting to an image of Totoro from the Japanese anime film My Neighbor Totoro dancing to his theme music. In the video, Butters then appears and introduces himself and Totoro before declaring twice to the audience that he is going to have sex with him, beginning to undress and move behind Totoro to do so, causing the real Butters in the audience to express disgust at Red, calling her a "bitch", leading Red to flip him off. Kyle points out he warned Butters this might backfire and PC Principal expresses visible confusion at the video.

At the Park County Police Station, Detective Harris is talking to Liane Cartman who explains that her son Eric was sick and given six to seven weeks to leave, and that people told her they could help Eric if they took him to Washington, D.C.. Harris tells her that her story seems far-fetched and questions why she wasn't invited along, and Liane tries to explain she was told it was a matter of national security and that she was no longer sure whether to believe the updates and e-mails she's been receiving. A policeman appears and interrupts, urging Detective Harris that there is an emergency at the school, telling him that a student at the school was molested by Totoro, which he immediately finds believable. Harris, shocked by this, dismisses Liane's concerns and says they'll look into it when they can, before hurrying down to the school with his men.

Harris sits down and question Butters in a private classroom, lighting a cigarette. He asks Butters what happened, and he insists he knows nothing. Harris explains he's seen the video, believing it to be authentic, and questions how long Butters and Totoro have been sexually active. Butters is confused and continues refusing to answer or explain. Harris tries to explain that the Totoro will continue molesting children unless Butters starts talking to him and explains where he met Totoro and describes his penis. Harris' partner Mitch Murphy then runs in and tells him that another student at the school has been raped by Popeye, watching the video with Murphy and Officer Johnson. Murphy explains they believe Totoro and Popeye may be working together and Harris is horrified, seeing a connection between Cartman's disappearance and the rapes, observing South Park may be going to shit before their eyes and promises to find out what is going down at the bottom of all this.

At the White House demolition continues on the historic building. President Donald Trump is sitting in the Oval Office across from Vice President JD Vance, who asks him not to be upset with him and promises everything he does is for Trump, who points that Vance has been manipulating him to try to make him want to get rid of his baby with Satan. Vance insists he has only done this because he knows Trump would not want the baby, insisting he wants to help him and that he would do anything to help him, declaring Trump the greatest boss he's ever had. Trump looks out the window and reflects as Vance insists he wants him to be happy. Trump acknowledges he doesn't want the baby, but there is so much excitement he feels unable to get out of it. Vance admits he has "a guy" who can help them, located in Colorado, who is an expert in all of this.

Back at the school, Harris now sits across from both Butters and Kenny, asking Kenny what happened between him and Popeye. Butters urges Kenny not to let Harris know the girls were responsible for the videos or it may expose that they were responsible for starting it, so Kenny denies it. Harris questions if Totoro put them up to these answers and insists they don't have to protect him, when Murphy arrives and explains Studio Ghibli has arrived and wants to talk, but Harris is unfamiliar with the famous animation studio. Murphy explains they are some Japanese people who "represent" Totoro, and Harris mistakes them for his legal representation. Three members of Studio Ghibli march in and are insulted Butters fucked their character, explaining angrily that Totoro is their "IP" (intellectual property) and that it took hundreds of artists three years to create the character, and that it took Butters only two minutes to fuck him. Kenny denies their actions and Ghibli responds in Japanese, prompting Harris to become frustrated he cannot understand anything going on. Ghibli tries to offer a cease and desist letter but Harris summons Murphy to remove them. A member of Ghibli declares that they cannot simply do anything they want with someone else's IP.

Back at the Cartman Residence, Liane is sitting on Cartman's bed watching AI-generated videos of him where he is in Washington DC, promising her he is safe and visiting landmarks. Some of the videos also include imagery from Disney Parks and a Frankenstein's monster despite promising he is safe in Washington, while other videos he has rosy cheeks and starts screeching at a cat "no Kitty, that's my pot pie", declaring his love for "cheesy poofs" and shouting "respect my authority", using catchphrases as he did in the show's earlier seasons, with most of the videos bearing the 'Sora' trademark, confirming they are being AI-generated. Liane sighs and says sadly that she misses him. At the South Park Motor Inn, Peter Thiel is creating prompts about 'a boy in South Park tells his mom he is doing good and he'll be home soon. The boy is fat and authoritative' and immediately generates a new video where Cartman says as prompted and injects the same catchphrases about 'authoritah' and cheesy poofs. Cartman tells him it isn't cool and insists people will know the video is fake because he "hasn't even talked about cheesy poofs in like five years". Thiel pulls a gun on him and insists they will head to Washington soon and Cartman will help him stop the Anti-Christ from being born so they can save the world. Cartman insists he won't do this for free - "if you want to use me, then you gotta pay" and "don't get to make me go do a bunch of weird shit that I would normally never do", but Thiel insists this is the world they live and that anything can make him do whatever they want, generating another video of him to demonstrate.

At the White House, Trump and Vance are having a bubble bath together in the White House bathroom, and Trump explains that he works really hard and just wants to 'relax, guy' and Vance agrees and says the baby will be too much work for him, and Trump mentions having attempted Plan B and abortion clinics but the baby will not die. Vance assures him that their 'guy in Colorado' can help take care of it and that only him can stop the Anti-Christ. They are interrupted when Satan arrives. Trump insists it's an important work meeting and Vance that it's boring government stuff, and Satan sarcastically remarks he's going to the pediatrician by himself again, expressing frustration that Trump is such a piece of shit. After he leaves, Trump insists he deserves to be treated better than that, and Vance insists Trump trust him, promising nobody feels for him as Vance does and they begin gazing into each other's eyes.

On the playground at South Park Elementary, Red, Nichole and Bebe are sitting on the merry-go-round looking at their phones when Kyle and Butters arrive and ask to speak to her. Kyle explains he's trying to help Butters call a truce, declaring the Sora stuff is out of hand and acknowledging Butters started it, so the girls retaliated, and then they made one with Kenny, and they should stop and respect each other more. Red agrees with him and tells him he's a smart guy. Kyle agrees he is indeed a smart guy, and that it is because he is a Jew. Droopy Dog shows up to Butters' surprise and confirms Kyle's identity, then declares he is going to take a shit in his mouth. Kyle protests but Droopy does so anyway, mocking him, "You like that, you dumb Jew?" This scene turns out to be another AI-generated video that Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Butters are watching in the hallway. Kyle is angry and disgusted, complaining and asking what he did to deserve that. Butters insists Red is just a bitch and Stan points out it's impressive and looks very real. Kyle is offended and shocked this is legal. Butters tells him nothing is sacred and they need to fight fire with fire, so Kyle suggests they make one with her and Bluey.

At the Police Station, Detective Harris leads a meeting of the police in front of a large whiteboard collecting evidence on Cartman's disappearance and the alleged assaults, discussing that there are twelve new cases in the last fourteen hours but that none of the children will testify, and that the predators may lawyer up like Totoro. The Studio Ghibli representatives in a nearby jail cell protest that they are not lawyers and that Totoro is something created with pencil and paint, not generated by a sentence in a Sora app. Harris insists nobody can understand them and ignores it, while Murphy points out nobody wants to talk to them and deny responsibility. Harris observes that kids won't talk to cops but will listen to anything cartoon characters like Rocky and Bullwinkle tell them to do, then has the idea for him and Murphy to go undercover as them to gain a child's trust. Back at the Motel, Thiel receives a call from Vance, who is laying in bed and assures him Trump approves of their plans, to Thiel's surprise. Vance says he and the President are on the same page and Trump rises in bed next to him naked, revealing he and Vance have begun sleeping together. Vance asks Thiel to keep the child on ice a little longer and Thiel assures them with Sora 2, he "can make the South Park kid do just about anything." Cartman curses Thiel and says this is lame. Vance and Trump relax in the Lincoln Bedroom after the call, and Vance asks Trump about him and Satan, but instead of responding they begin making out and having sex. Vance exclaims that Trump's penis is so big, and grips the sheets as both achieve visible orgasms.

At the Park County Ice Skating Rink, Harris and Murphy wait undercover in a car dressed as Rocky and Bullwinkle. Harris asks Murphy if he remembers when things "made sense" and expresses horror at what they see today, comparing it to being inside of a shaken snow globe and being dared to make sense of the results. Murphy does not understand either and feels maybe they are becoming old. Harris mentions how they previously went after "normal" criminals, but now they see criminals that "turn into oranges that eat other oranges", referring to the AI-generated content. and that seeing this makes him feel perhaps the job no longer needs him. They then see Red leave the Skating Rink and approach her, asking if she's looking for a "good time".

At the Park County Courthouse, a prosecutor begins to talk about the police's undercover work and that evidence showed an innocent girl was humiliated by Kyle, Kenny and Butters' actions. The prosecutor then asks the girl if she felt used, and the witness is shown to be Bluey, who says they made her do things she would normally never do. He asks for details and Bluey explains they made her "go to the bathroom in a very, very bad place" and did not offer her any compensation, not even one cent. Harris protests and expresses anger they are treating the children as the victims and screams out. The prosecutor states as Bluey was misrepresented, the boys will go to jail, but Butters speaks up and takes responsibility for his actions and starting it, stating his heart was broken and he made his first video in Sora 2, having seen the videos Cartman made to "get out of school" and that he could use the same technology to get back at Red because "the bitch deserves it" but that it was only him. Harris, having not realized any of the videos were AI-generated up until now and realizing the Cartman videos are being generated, suspects Totoro is behind it and has Murphy trace the IP address of the Cartman videos.

The police then arrive at the motel and arrest Peter Thiel and retrieve Cartman. Thiel tries to threaten that he has powerful connections but Harris tries to insist that "no magical Catbus is going to whisk [him] away from justice" this time. Cartman reunites with his mother outside and angrily questions how she took so long to realize the videos were fake, asking her when the last time he even ate a pot pie was. Harris has Thiel locked up with the Studio Ghibli lawyers. Harris declares to Murphy it looks like the whole online rapist organization they believed they busted is called Sora 2, which is actually the name of the AI generation app. Officer Peterson calls him over and points out Thiel didn't just make videos but has surveillance equipment from the White House, and plays for Harris and Murphy the video of President Trump and Vice President Vance having sex. Murphy points out Fox News isn't going to happy. A depressed Fox News special alert plays where a disappointed lawyer explains about the security camera video footage of President Trump having "relations" with Vice President Vance, while also playing it on television. A live reporter reports sadly from outside the White House in the rain, who questions why Trump would do this when Satan and him have a baby on the way. They are then interrupted by Fox & Friends, who are receiving a call-in from President Trump, who claims he is doing great things, "more than Sleepy Joe Biden ever did" and promises everything's great. The disappointed anchor asks him about the security footage and Trump initially tells him to "relax" but when he presses, Trump insists it's all Sora 2 and therefore fake, and the Fox News teams are all relieved and start expressing shame for doubting President Trump, now denying Trump and Vance ever had sex.

Back at the White House, Satan asks Trump to swear on "everything" that the video was fake, and Trump reassures him that of course it's fake. Satan points out looks really real, and Trump swears on their baby that he wouldn't cheat on him and urges him to relax. Satan agrees and Trump says he's going to grab a snack and asks if he wants anything from downstairs, but sneaks off to meet with Vance in front of a window. Trump asks about the situation and Vance tells him that the stubborn detective in South Park will not hand over Peter Thiel. Trump questions this but Vance assures him they will not let the town of South Park get in the way of their plans together and then begin making out again.
