For the song featured in "Christmas Snow", see Kay Thompson's Jingle Bells.

"Jingle Bells" is a popular Christmas song written by James Lord Pierpont. Though the song is not featured in the English version of South Park, it has been adapted in foreign-language dubbings, via replacement of other songs, or used in regional trailers and advertisements.

Background

In the Czech and second Italian dubs of "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery", Cartman sings "Jingle Bells" instead of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", after informing the boys that it is only two months to Christmas. Its tune is also adapted later in the Italian dub of the episode, when Cartman sings to the lyrics of "Sleigh Ride".

In December 4, 2015, Comedy Central Hungary released a simple trailer featuring Santa Claus and Mr. Hankey singing a rewritten version of the song. This was re-uploaded in 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2025, during the week of St. Nicholas Day.[1]

Hungarian lyrics Translation

Barna lesz a hó
És csíkot húz a szán
Mind kitolni jó,
Megkönnyebbülsz talán

A párkány már havas
Bélelet nagykabát
Ha jó voltál, már érzed is
Az ünnepek szagát

Mikulás, mi kulás?
Valami kulás!
A Nap nem süt,
De így is üt
Egy spontán barnulás

Mikulás, mi kulás?
Valami kulás!
Decemberben kula nélkül
Nincsen Mikulás

The snow is turning brown
And the sledge draws a stripe
It's good to push it all away,
Maybe you'll feel better

The ledge is already snowy
Padded coat
If you've been good, you can already smell
The smell of the holidays

Santa Claus, what is wrong
Something is wrong
The sun isn't shining,
But it's still beating
A spontaneous tan

Santa Claus, what a sleigh
Something is wrong
December without a sleigh
(Means) no Santa Claus
